Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) Frequently Asked Questions
Federal Student Aid (FSA) and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are government-sponsored funding packages that assist students with the cost of tuition, housing, and other fees associated with higher education. The package may be made up of federal grants and scholarships (which do not need to be repaid) and loans (which do need to be repaid). Typically, these awards are determined based on the economic needs of students and are calculated from the FAFSA data collected on the student and/or their parents.
Special Funding Options
We work hard to make sure you can get the education you deserve. Our school supports a wide variety of funding options for each of our students’ special circumstances – which we call ‘Special Funding.’ Qualifying for these programs will depend on a student’s special certification or unique situation.
Payment Plans
For students who are looking to invest in their education with monthly payments, we have payment solutions.

All of the resources below have been used by one or more of our students to successfully help build their future. We are always happy to consider and work with any aid that someone may qualify or apply for.
At Healing Hands School, we encourage students to apply for third-party scholarships to help with their educational investment. Here are some resources to consider:
- Tribal Grant Scholarships: Native Americans may qualify for a scholarship through their tribe. Contact your tribe to see if they can help you with school.
- Herman H. Dirksen Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship awarded to up to 10 San Diego County residents. This scholarship can be used for trade schools like Healing Hands School. For more information, visit: SDFoundation.org/Scholarships.
