John received a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Michigan in Anh Arbor, MI on December 15, 1991 and has published writings on the methodology of the Life Sciences, has an HHP license from the city of San Diego, CAMTC certified and is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Teacher, Reese Movement Institute, San Diego in 1996. John is a Certified Structural Integrator from the International Association of Structural Integrators as of May 2003, certified in Thai Massage from the Changmai School in Thailand in 1991 and has studied Tui Na in China with an AMTA grant. He was a member of the Graduate Faculty in Philosophy at The Univ. Of Illinois in Chicago for 15 years, taught at the Univ. of New Hampshire, The Aslo Conservatory at the Univ. of South Florida and San Diego State. He is presently Core Adjunct Professor in the Dept. of Sociology at National University, Guest Faculty at Healing Hands Massage School, Adjunct Faculty at PCHS, and has a private practice in San Diego. He was on the staff of the Gero-Psychiatric Ward at Mission Bay Hospital for many years as well as teaching in the Integrative Medicine Unit at Scripps. He has taught Tai Chi, meditation, and stress reduction techniques at many venues around the country and has practiced Zazen and Transcendental Meditation for 40 years.

John continues his education with recent work over the past 3 years in Orthopedic/medical massage, sound/dance/art therapies and recent pain science developments. John has taught a wide variety of massage classes, ranging from Thai massage and Tai Chi to Structural Integration, Kinesiology and Orthopedic Massage   at numerous massage schools locally over the past 35 years including IPSB, SOHA/ICOHS, The California College of Holistic Health as well as having  designed several educational programs and served as Ethics Liaison for many years at the School of Healing Arts (SOHA).  Healing Hands School of Holistic Health is his most recent addition.  He continues to mentor students from the Massage/Feldenkrais communities, loves traveling and a good road trip, listening to good music (jazz, Blues, Rock and Roll) and remains an analogue island in an increasingly digital universe (which includes his ever-expanding vinyl collection).

John instructs Neuromuscular Therapy, Principles of Structural Integration, 10 Sessions of Structural Integration, and Passive Joint Movement.
