This advanced course introduces students to new ways to enhance their bodywork and its impact on clients.   They learn to use palms, knuckles, fingers, elbows and forearms, taking Circulatory Massage to new heights.

In addition, they learn deep, invigorating manipulations and cross-fiber techniques characteristic of Sports Massage.   When added to a Graduates’ resume, Advanced Circulatory and Sports Massage gives them a distinct edge which translates into increased job opportunities.

Massage Therapists use their elbows and body-weight to relieve shoulder tension.

The Benefits of Advanced Circulatory & Sports Massage Techniques

Body & Mind: Circulatory massage positively impacts both the physical and emotional aspects of an individual. It is a nurturing experience that reduces the stress hormone Cortisol, while boosting good feeling hormones Serotonin & Dopamine. Gentle Circulatory Massage also lowers your blood pressure and heart rate. This is especially beneficial for Athletes after their event.

Eases Muscle and Joint Pain: The strokes such as Effleurage, Petrissage and Fanning used in Circulatory Massage also relax and lengthen the muscles after an event. The lengthened muscles reduce tension on the ligaments and structures that cause pain. Sports techniques such as cross-fiber release old adhesions and scar tissue which speeds healing and enhances performance.

Improves Blood Flow: The strokes used in Circulatory massage increase blood flow and circulation throughout the body.  As a result, it can open blood vessels and increase the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the heart, lungs, and other organs.  Fast, invigorating strokes of Sports Massage ready muscles for action and stimulate the nervous system for optimal performance.

Improved Flexibility: Circulatory massage promotes relaxation of the muscles, relieving tension and stress and promoting healing. Relaxed muscles allow for improved flexibility and ease of motion. Range of motion is enhanced by Sports massage that stretches, strengthens and dissolves adhesions and scar tissue.

Sports Massage is done on-site at Athletic Events

Reduces Inflammation: The increased circulation helps stimulate the lymph system which flushes toxins and excess fluids from the body.  Improved circulation helps remove waste products from muscles and tissues which reduces the risk of inflammation and blood clots.

Enhances Athletic Performance: Circulatory and Sports Massage techniques reduce muscle soreness, speed recovery from injury and optimizes range of motion. Massage serves as a natural pain relief method.

Improves Immune Function: By promoting circulation of blood throughout the body, Circulatory Massage stimulates the lymph system which enhances our immune response.
