Dynamic Cupping’s use of vacuum therapy is centuries old, dating back to ancient Egyptian, African and Asian cultures. This form of therapy uses suction to increase circulation, and soften myo-facial and muscular structures. Traditional Asian cupping uses fire to provide suction, alternate cupping techniques use hand held pumps, rubber cups, and “Baguanfa” silicone cups. This course covers basic history of vacuum therapy including the benefits and contraindications of using cups. We will learn a basic and dynamic cupping protocol to add to existing body work sessions or develop a stand- alone treatment plan. We will learn the basic handling of silicone cups and be able to apply, remove, and incorporate cupping movement to achieve desired outcomes of circulation, adhesion/muscle knot breakdown, and relaxation.
