Holistic Massage School Shares Weekend Classes for Spring

At Healing Hands School of  (Massage) Holistic Health, we know that the Holistic Healing Arts are enjoying a resurgence in popularity.  The idea of facilitating healing and relaxation through touch is instinctive to many of the students who seek our training. Many students have been attracted to the Holistic Healing Arts for years before putting a name to it. Anyone who has practiced Yoga, Meditation, Breath-work, Aromatherapy, or Acupressure has experienced Holistic (whole) Healing. These therapies address the mind, body, and Spirit.

This Spring, the Healing Hands’ Faculty has put together four popular Holistic Health courses that will be offered as ‘weekend’ classes. These can be taken as stand-alone courses, or as part of the Massage Therapy or Holistic Health Practitioner Programs.  Professional Massage Therapists may also be interested in these classes to satisfy Continuing Education Units (CEUs) needed for CAMTC re-certification.

In addition to weekend classes, Healing Hands offers weekday and night classes at each of our three campus locations.  See our complete Spring line-up here.

Holistic Living Retreat

Pounding the Dye
Retreat Attendees Crafting & Communing in Nature

The first of our weekend classes, the Holistic Living Retreat, is scheduled for Easter weekend, March 30th and 31st.  This class begins Saturday morning at 10 am and ends at 4pm Sunday evening. Participation earns the student 20 hours of educational credits.

Students, Alumni, friends, and family are invited to attend this outdoor living experience. Bring your tent and sleeping bag because this class takes place in a remote, undeveloped Canyon. With no modern conveniences to distract them, attendees can unwind, rejuvenate, and connect with nature. Attendees sleep under the stars at night and participate in a variety of fun, educational activities during the day.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Healing Hands San-Diego/Kearny Mesa location will be offering 40-hours of Lymphatic Drainage Massage this Spring.  Classes will be offered on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm. The class begins on June 15th and runs through July 13th.

By learning how to stimulate the Lymphatic System through massage, students can significantly increase their client’s Immune System function.  A strong, well-functioning immune system fights disease, facilitates healing, and enhances our overall health and wellness.

Students receiving Reflexology on their feet.

Healing Hands – Laguna Hills is offering a 30-hour Reflexology course. The course takes place on Sundays from 9am to 4:30pm. It begins on April 7th and runs through the 28th.

In this course students learn the exact locations of ‘reflex points’ on the hands and feet.  They explore how these points relate to organs, glands, and other body systems.

Students practice touching the specific points that promote relaxation, reduce stress, improve circulation, facilitate detox, and revitalize the body. By learning Reflexology, students can positively affect the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, and immune systems of their clients.

Somatic Awareness Through Movement

Another course gaining popularity at Healing Hands is Somatic Awareness Through Movement.  Offered at our Escondido campus on Saturdays from 9am to 4:30 pm, this 30-hour course starts April 6th and runs through April 27th.

This course teaches Students  how joint degeneration, chronic pain, and recurring injuries are most often caused by our chronic posture. How we habitually hold and use our bodies can contribute to either the healing or worsening of physical symptoms.

This course emphasizes postural, movement, and pain reducing exercises. Students explore developmental, neuromuscular, postural patterning techniques. They also practice integrative movement modalities to restore balance and ease of motion.
