Massage School Hosts Annual Holistic Living Retreat

Each year during Easter weekend, Healing Hands School of Holistic Health’s (Healing Hands) Founders, Paula, and Neha Curtiss, host their annual Holistic Living Retreat. Participants include students and graduates from all three Campus locations.  Friends and family are also welcome to participate.  Children are welcome at no charge, with an accompanying adult.

Held annually on Easter weekend, March 30-31, Healing Hands 2024 retreat begins Saturday morning and ends at 4pm Sunday.  It takes place in a beautiful, undeveloped Canyon in San Diego.  Attendees camp out among majestic trees, a serene waterfall and running creek.

The Holistic Living Retreat is an accredited course in sustainable, holistic living.  Paula and Neha are the ‘Tribal Chiefs’, who handle all event preparations. Together, they manage an out-door kitchen, supervise Retreat volunteers, and announce upcoming workshops and group activities.

Partner Energy-work

Highlights included: a ‘greeting ceremony’ in which guests share their intentions for the Retreat. Paula leads a group exercise to promote trust, and performs a Native American ceremony called, The Blessings to the Four Directions. These shared activities set the perfect tone for a weekend filled with meaningful communication and healing.

The Egg Hunt

One unique aspect of the Holistic Living Retreat is the observance of silence Easter morning.  This contributes to a tranquil, meditative atmosphere. The only sounds heard will be those of children enjoying the Easter egg hunt.  Rather than rewarding them with candy, their incentive is to retrieve as many eggs as possible to feed the retreat community.
