The Faculty and Staff at Healing Hands School of Holistic Health is on a mission. When Founding Directors, Paula and Neha Curtiss, set out to provide education in the Holistic Healing Arts, they hoped to inspire healthy living throughout Southern California for generations to come. Today, with three campus locations and more than 7,500 graduates raising awareness of holistic health, they’ve exceeded their own expectations!
Since 1992, Paula and Neha designed courses that empower their students to live and promote a healthy, holistic lifestyle. Students who enroll at Healing Hands for their Massage Therapy training, find a supportive, welcoming community. Our Faculty and Staff share an aligned vision of assisting you in reaching your fullest potential as a Professional Massage Therapist or Holistic Health Practitioner. From the moment you arrive through graduation and beyond, you’ll have opportunities to expand your awareness of yourself, others and the interconnectedness of our Minds, Bodies and Spirits.
Healing Hands students experience an increased sense of purpose as they come together in interactive classes. Through lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice, they gain the knowledge and skills necessary to positively impact their family, friends and clients.
Students who graduate from Healing Hands Massage Therapist Program (MTP) receive 600 hours of training to meet State Certification requirements. Their holistic education includes the basics like; Circulatory Massage, Anatomy, TaiChi, Professional Practices and their choice of 3 additional modalities. These fundamentals prepare graduates to ease sore muscles, improve range of motion, increase circulation, boost the immune system and flood the body with healing hormones that relieve stress and boost well-being.
For some students, Massage and the Holistic Healing Arts offer more than just an in-demand career. They see the Holistic Healing Arts as a calling and enroll in the Holistic Health Practitioner Program to expand their education beyond the parameters of body work. The 1000-hour Holistic Health Practitioner Program includes the basics taught in the 600-hour MT Program, then adds an addition 400 hours of Elective Classes.
Students in the Holistic Health Practitioner Program get to select from dozens of integrative holistic health courses. These may include Herbal Studies, Nutrition & Dietary Practices, Homeopathy, Structural Integration, and Neuro-muscular Therapies to name a few. Fortunately for the life-long student, Healing Hands offers more than 80 massage classes and continues to add leading edge therapies on a regular basis.
While a career as a Professional Massage Therapist is not for everyone, for many it becomes their life’s work. They see Massage Therapy and Bodywork as a form of creative self-expression they find deeply satisfying. It allows them to create a safe, nurturing space for their clients and to use their knowledge and skills to facilitate physical and emotional healing. In this way, Healing Hands Healers, will continue “Touching Lives and Touching Hearts”, and promoting an awareness of “whole” health in the process.
