Holistic Massage School Acknowledges 27th Anniversary!

Credited with creating the first Massage Therapy training program for community colleges in SoCal, Paula and Neha Curtiss are well-known educators of the Holistic Healing Arts.  On February 8th, 1992 the couple founded Healing Hands School of Holistic Health, to offer more expansive educational opportunities.  This past February they celebrated the 27th anniversary of their progeny.

“What started out as two instructors teaching about 8 courses has grown to dozens of Instructors teaching over 80 courses, and we couldn’t be prouder”, said Paula Curtiss. “Our original vision was: ‘To teach therapeutic bodywork so that the massage student not only learns the techniques but is inspired by the art and craft of the work. That led us to explore the question, ‘How can we teach hands-on massage skills while engendering deep respect for the body and compassion for each other?’

The Curtiss’ answers to those questions, noted below, are what set Healing Hands apart from all other Massage Schools twenty-seven years ago, and continue to do so today.

  • By developing a curriculum that required the student to experience both sides of the massage
  • By giving students a comprehensive understanding of the structure and function of the body
  • By providing ample opportunity for students to gain practical experience
  • By creating a classroom environment of trust, respect and joyful discovery
  • By offering Holistic Health classes that give Graduates a professional edge

When acknowledging the school’s 27th Anniversary, Neha commented, “I want to thank our exceptional Faculty, Staff and dedicated students for our continued success.  If not for the 7,000+ graduates who believed in our mission, our vision would not have become a reality”.

Harmony Curtiss, Paula and Neha’s daughter and the Director for the Laguna Hills location added: “We pride ourselves on recruiting educators who not only specialize in their subjects but advocate for Holistic Health as well.  They are the driving force behind our continued success.  They not only impart knowledge and skills, they model the sensitivity and awareness necessary to become a successful practitioner”.

Offering affordable in-house payment plans, Healing Hands strives to make an education in the Holistic Healing Arts available to all who are interested.  They are also approved to accept Federal Student Aid, Veterans Benefits, Unemployment and WIA educational funding, on behalf of Students who qualify.
