What is Reiki?

Along with the basic principles of Massage Therapy, we value all forms of natural healing that our students can benefit from within their careers. We love to explore the many types of healing modalities in order for our students to get the most well-rounded education possible.

Two elective courses we offer at Healing Hands is Reiki I and Reiki II. As a part of balancing our mind, body, and soul, this healing work teaches students how to transfer energy from life’s forces and their own to help get rid of energy blocks within their clients.

This ancient Japanese healing modality has become popular over time, as it brings feelings of comfort, protection, peace, and wellbeing.

Here’s the breakdown of Reiki:

How It Works

Reiki is a gentle, spiritual, healing practice that promotes balance throughout the mind, body, and soul. Healing occurs when positive life force energy is transferred from the therapist to the client. This energy is moved through the therapist’s hands and into certain energy fields around the body.  As this modality does not involve physical manipulation but instead works on the vibrational field surrounding and penetrating its subject, its reach is virtually unlimited.

What The Benefits Are

Simple to perform, yet powerful as treatment, Reiki can relieve pain, alleviate chronic illness, and accelerate the healing process after any type of medical or holistic treatment. But, the practice of Reiki goes far beyond healing physical conditions. The principles it is centered around encourage living and behaving in ways that promote harmony within others and within oneself. When our life energy is low, we are more likely to get sick and feel stressed. Therefore this energy flow helps clients be happy and healthy.

Reiki At Healing Hands

When students enroll in our Reiki I and Reiki II courses, the healing energy is not taught, it is actually passed down by their teacher. In this course, students learn to awaken the innate healing power within and are encouraged to “open” to their own spiritual insights and wisdom. Through instruction, demonstration, and practice they learn to “flow” loving energy through their hands and hearts to heal themselves and their clients. Reiki II takes Reiki I principles and practices to a higher level. Students that are already familiar with this spiritual healing practice will focus on techniques to “flow” loving energy through their hands and hearts out to their client.
