Acute Inflammation
Acute inflammation comes on rapidly, becomes severe in a short time and may last for a several days. Often the result of trauma, microbial invasion, or toxic compounds.
Chronic Inflammation
Chronic inflammation is inflammation that has continued for several months or more. Usually the effects vary with the severity of the trauma and the body’s ability to repair the damage.
Symptoms
Inflammation causes noticeable symptoms, such as pain, redness and swelling. Other symptoms are subtle, such as fatigue, fever, pain and digestive disorders.
