Heidi Johnson, Aspiring Massage Therapist and Holistic Health Practitioner

Heidi J. is currently a student at Healing Hands School of Holistic Health, (Healing Hands), where she is pursuing an education in Massage Therapies and the Holistic Healing Arts. So far, Heidi has completed 500 hours of study in her 1000-hour Holistic Health Practitioner Program. To date, she’s mastered several Eastern and Western Massage modalities that include: Circulatory Massage, Ayurvedic (Ancient Indian Massage), Japanese Shiatsu, and Advanced Circulatory and Sports Massage Therapies. Next semester she will take on a 100-hour course called Deep Tissue Manipulations along with 100 hours of TuiNa (Chinese Acupressure).
When Heidi was asked what led her to Healing Hands, she said, timing. At 21 years old, Heidi had already worked as a Nanny and then as a care-giver. She knew she wanted to do something to help others that was meaningful, but until she discovered the Holistic Healing Arts as a path to personal development and financial independence, she lacked the drive to take action. All that changed in when three different friends told her about Healing Hands within weeks of each other, which was synchronistic and prompted her to take action.
After giving it consideration, Heidi realized she was naturally drawn to the Healing Arts, always the first to offer a healing hand to any child hurt on the

playground. Heidi confides that she has always been very empathic. As both a child and as an adult she has provided healing touch to friends and family even before any formal education. Imagining what she might be capable of if she went to school to become a Professional Massage Therapist, Heidi became further inspired and visited the Laguna Hills campus to check it out. In July of 2017 she formally enrolled and began her journey.
“I’ve had a wonderful education here at Healing Hands”, said Heidi. “I think the school’s Staff is really helpful, the Faculty is amazing, I love my Instructors and I’ve learned so, so much!”, she exclaimed when asked about her educational experience. As for Heidi’s plan after Graduation, she said, “I’ll be taking a Massage Therapist position at the Massage Clinic where I’m currently working at the front desk. I’ve already given the Owner a ‘Practical’ (hands-on Massage) so she could assess my potential. I must have passed, because I got the job waiting once I’m Certified, and in the mean-time, I’m learning important administrative skills I’ll need to operate my own business”, she added.
When asked about her future, Heidi relayed that short-term she plans to complete her Program and pass the National Exam so she has the freedom to work anywhere within the US. Heidi’s long-term goal is to become a Solo-practitioner and reach out to potential clients at a variety of work places, gyms and medical facilities in her local community. Heidi looks forward to using her knowledge and skills to facilitate healing for clients while enjoying the freedom of a flexible schedule to accommodate life on her own terms.
Much like the 7,000 Healing Hands graduates before her, Heidi recognizes the benefits offered by an in-demand career as a Professional Massage Therapist. She now feels aligned with her sense of purpose and is excited about what her future holds.
