“Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a holistic (whole person) approach to healing that recognizes the inter-connectedness of our minds, bodies and spirits” said Harmony Curtiss, Operations Manager for Healing Hands School of Holistic Health – Laguna Hills. “It has proven to be an effective treatment for a wide range of illnesses as it encourages the body’s free flow of energy, promotes vitality and facilitates a greater sense of well-being. Classes start on April 11th so I’m reminding all interested students to register by March 28th to ensure your spot this Spring.” she added.
For more than 35 years, thousands of practitioners world-wide have demonstrated Craniosacral Therapy’s effectiveness, and its practice has evolved into a highly respected form of integrative therapy. Clinical applications include a wide-range of musculoskeletal, developmental, and neurological issues, as well as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorders. Additional conditions that benefit from craniosacral therapy include: headaches and migraines, chronic neck and back pain, central nervous system disorders, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, stress and tension-related problems, connective tissue disorders, neurovascular disorders and many more!
This Spring, HH’s 32-hour Craniosacral Therapy I course will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 5pm starting April 11th and ending on April 20th. Students will learn how to use traditional techniques to facilitate a comfortable realignment of the soft tissue surrounding the cranial-sacral mechanism. Students are given opportunity to develop their perception skills so they can tune in to the natural rhythms of the cerebrospinal fluid. By understanding how cerebrospinal fluid protects the brain and spinal cord, and its role in the nervous system, students can help restore natural balance for their clients and help them to re-boot of their innate healing powers.
Craniosacral Therapy can be used as a stand-alone therapy or in conjunction with other massage and body-work modalities. It is safe for use on all age groups including infants, children and the elderly. Although soft and gentle in its application, the effects of Craniosacral Therapy on the mind and body are reported to be deep and profound.
In a typical treatment, the client lies on his or her back while the Therapist uses a gentle touch, usually no greater than 5 grams of pressure to induce relaxation. Therapists also gently move joints including the cranial sutures which span the top of the head and accommodate subtle changes in intracranial pressure. Craniosacral therapists are taught to maintain a neutral presence and intention when practicing this therapy in order to foster self-healing.
