“Trey Powell is a Certified Massage Therapist, Holistic Health Practitioner and the newest Academic Advisor for Healing Hands School of Holistic Health (HH)” said Paula Curtiss, Founding Director.  “A HH graduate, Trey is equipped with the information and resources to provide guidance and support to students from registration through graduation and beyond.  Please join us in welcoming Trey to the HH family”, she added.

Possessing strong interpersonal skills, Trey strives to establish a rapport with each HH student so he may effectively assist them with goal setting, course selection and school resources. He engages students, promotes their academic success, and fosters their personal, ethical, and intellectual growth which carries over to their roles as Professional Massage Therapists.  At graduation, Trey provides guidance to help students obtain State Certification, create a winning resume, and achieve gainful employment.

Born in Nederland Texas, Trey is a sports enthusiast who enjoys Cycling, ‘Flow’ Artistry, Parkour, Juggling, Camping and electronic music. He relocated to California in 2006 to join the Marine Corps’ Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He served as an Infantry Rifleman stationed at 29 Palms, California through the completion of his active duty.  He then served as a Bank Teller, Office Administrator and Customer Service Representative for civilian corporations before choosing an education in Massage Therapy and Holistic Health.

Trey says he chose a career as a Massage Therapists so he could learn more about his own body and become educated in various holistic health practices. Trey says that what he likes best about practicing massage is the connection it allows him to make with his own body, and the awareness he brings to others about theirs.

After completing HH’s Holistic Health Practitioner Program in January of 2016, Trey amassed hundreds of hours of experience working for Elements Massage and operating his own mobile practice serving Beach city residents in Orange County.   Gravitating toward Sports Massage, Structural Integration and Neuro-muscular therapies, clients say they enjoy Trey’s bodywork, find it very therapeutic and appreciate the helpful information he imparts in the process.

Trey has completed over 1000 hours of Massage Therapy and Holistic Health training.  The massage modalities he specializes in include: Circulatory (Swedish), Deep Tissue, Thai, Thai Foot, Shiatsu, Trigger Point, Structural Integration and Reflexology Massage Therapies.  Trey is also knowledgeable of Anatomy/Physiology and familiar with integrative holistic practices including: Homeopathic first aid, Aromatherapy and Therapeutic Stretching.

Going forward, Trey intends to open his own Holistic Health Practice adding adjunctive therapies to his arsenal of bodywork modalities and techniques.  Until then, he plans to grow his massage practice, learn more about the massage industry as a whole, and support student success as an Academic Advisor for HH.
