Massage School Reports Changes to CAMTC Certification & State Licensing Requirements

The California Massage Therapy Council has made significant changes to state certification requirements.
 
I. As of January 1, 2014, no more 250 hour Massage Therapy Certification
  1. If you have completed 250 hours and your application is received by CAMTC by December 31,2014, you may still receive a 250 Massage Practitioner Certificationshutterstock_152680601
II. As of January 1, 2015 all applicants are required to have 500 hours and pass an approved exam
  1. You may upgrade from CMP to CMT without taking exam if you do so before December  31, 2014
  2.  CAMTC approves of the following exams: Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam [MBLEx]; the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage [NCETM]; and National Certification Exam of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork [NCETMB]
